MARENER Engineered Systems was contracted to provide nine (9) QuayQuip design-built Parallel Movement Fendering (PMF) Systems during for the major overhaul of BC Ferries' Tsawwassen Berth 4 in Tsawwassen, BC. The custom engineered design of the PMF systems utilizes a “back to back” fender cone system which provides double the energy absorption with half the reaction force. The design resulted in substantial cost savings for BC Ferries in the construction of the necessary support structures.
